Phil Stanley-Berridge is head gardener at Snelling & Berridge, a small but capable and ambitious gardening company based in Thelnetham, Suffolk, just over the border from Norfolk. Phil is an RHS trained and qualified horticulturalist and a member of the Gardeners Guild.
Snelling & Berridge specialise in garden planning, innovative planting schemes, and creating sympathetic garden structures such as raised beds and compost bins. We enjoy undertaking a range of garden tasks, from day-to-day garden care to full re-designs.
Based on the Norfolk and Suffolk border, we cover Diss in Norfolk, Bury St Edmunds, Thetford and Stowmarket in Suffolk. We are well equipped to carry out various garden jobs including hedge trimming, mowing, bed maintenance / construction, edging, pruning, weeding and more. We can also maintain or remove small trees, including a chipping service and removal of waste.

Phil’s garden philosophy is quite simple; your garden should be a place you can enjoy. It should be a place of calm and beauty. Our job is to ensure you can enjoy the benefits of your garden without the associated hard work of creating and maintaining it.

Phil has a degree in History and is a qualified teacher. He spent many years as a learning specialist at the National Archives and Imperial War Museum, then working with excluded pupils in a local pupil referral unit, before re-training to follow his real passion – Gardening!
Phil is qualified in RHS Practical Horticulture level 2 and has a wealth of experience in woodworking and soft landscaping – in particular using recycled and reclaimed materials.
